In Übereinstimmung mit dem Ergebnis einer Machbarkeitsstudie sollen die Sportmöglichkeiten auf dem Gelände des Sportkomplex Rennbahnstraße ressourceneffizient erweitert werden. Hierzu soll eine sehr nachhaltige Sportanlage geschaffen werden, bei der die Konstruktion aus überwiegend recyclebaren Werkstoffen besteht und sowohl eine PV-Anlage, als auch eine Dachbegrünung realisierbar ist.
Die Errichtung der Freilufthalle (30 m x 15 m) soll als schlüsselfertige Leistung durch einen Generalunternehmer erbracht werden.
